Getting There, Passports & Visa Documentation

The Komodo National Park Indonesia is part of the Republic of Indonesia and is located 8 to 9 degrees south of the equator between Java Indonesia on the West and Lombok Indonesia and the rest of the Lesser Sunda Islands Indonesia (Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba and Timor) on the East.
 
Airlines fly into Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpassar Indonesia: Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, China Air, Eva Airways, and Qatar Airways. An overnight in a Bali hotel is required before boarding a domestic flight to Labuan Bajo where you will meet the Komodo Aggressor.
 
Visitors must have a current passport (2 blank pages), adequate funds to support themselves, and a return airline ticket. US citizens require a passport that must be valid for 6 months from date of entry. It is the travelers’ responsibility to ensure they have the proper visa to travel into each country on his or her itinerary as well as for re-entry and return to their country. Since regulations vary by country, contact your consulate or embassy of your country for the requirement.

KOMODO NATIONAL PARK ITINERARIES
Reaching the Komodo Aggressor™ liveaboard for your Komodo scuba diving vacation will involve a round trip domestic flight from Bali to Komodo Airport near the city of Labuan Bajo (LBJ) on Flores Island in the East Nusa Tenggara province in Indonesia. The Komodo Aggressor embarks beginning at 1:00 pm and departs after everyone is onboard on the scheduled departure day. Guests should arrange to take one of the morning flights.
 
Once you have claimed your luggage in Labuan Bajo Airport, please look for an agent holding a Komodo Aggressor sign. A transfer company has been hired to meet and greet Komodo Aggressor guests who have arranged this transfer in advance.
 
The Komodo Aggressor returns to port on the evening prior to disembarkation. Final disembarkation is from 7:00 am –9:00 am at the end of the charter. Guests will be transported to the Labuan Bajo airport for a domestic flight back to Bali.

ALOR ITINERARIES:

The embarkation/disembark town for these trips is Kalabahi, Alor Island Airport (also known as Mali Airport), airport code ARD. This is easily accessible from Kupang, which is reachable with two daily flights from Jakarta. It is also possible to reach Kupang from Bali but in this case one night in Kupang will be necessary because of the flights schedule.
Itineraries will start/end at the Alor Airport (ARD). 
The yacht departs at 1:00 pm on the charter departure date. Guests are advised to arrive at the departure destination with plenty of time to transfer to the yacht.
The Komodo Aggressor's final disembarkation will occur between 7:00 am –9:00 am at the end of the charter.

BANDA SEA ITINERARIES:

The embarkation town for this itinerary is Kalabahi, Alor Island Airport (also known as Mali Airport), airport code ARD. The yacht departs at 1:00 pm on the charter departure date. Guests are advised to arrive at the departure destination with plenty of time to transfer to the yacht.
The disembarkation point for the Banda Sea itinerary is Ambon, the airport is Pattimura Airport, airport code AMQ. There are daily direct flights to Jakarta.


SULAWESI NORTH & SOUTH  ITINERARIES:

The airport for the embarkation on Sulawesi North to South trip is Manado, airport code MDC, it is an international airport. There are 4 direct weekly flights from Singapore on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday on Scoot, part of the Singapore Airlines group. Tickets from the USA to Manado can be booked through Singapore Airlines. The airport is also reachable with daily flights from Jakarta and Bali.
Complimentary pick up is offered on embarkation day. Guests staying at hotels and resorts in Bitung and Lembeh Strait will be picked up around 12 noon. Guests staying at Novotel close to Manado Airport will be picked up around 10:30/11 AM.
The trip disembarkation city is Kendari, the airport is Haluoleo Airport, airport code KDI, daily direct flights to Jakarta and to Bali, via Makassar.
 
The departure tax is included in the cost of international and domestic airline tickets so you should not have to pay this locally at the airport.
 

Transfers

The Komodo Aggressor provides complimentary transportation to guests staying at a hotel in the same town as port of embarkation. If the distance of the hotel is more than 20 minutes away, there may be a surcharge.
 
Land Transfers: Bali transfers are not included in the charter. Transfers to/from domestic flights on embark/disembark dates are included. For questions and more details, email komodo@aggressor.com.

Misc

The Komodo Aggressor requires that every diver carry a Surface Marker Buoy or SMB, also known as a safety sausage, signal tube, or surface marker on every dive to comply with dive safety standards. An SMB is an important safety accessary for every diver regardless of where you are scuba diving.
 
The use of a drone requires a local permit with an application process submitted to the harbor master of Labuan Bajo. They are forbidden in many areas.
 Taxes and fees paid onboard the yacht are subject to change without notice.

Local Fees/Taxes

Each guest must pay a park/port fee at the end of the trip when settling bills. The port/park fee is $250.

These may be paid by Visa, MC, cash, or bank transfer. Credit card payments onboard the yacht incur a 2.5% service charge. Rupiah (IDR) is the official currency. **The yacht will only accept brand new, unfolded, unmarked, crisp USD 100 banknotes that are dated after 2006, otherwise there will be a 5% fee.

It is required for all guests to have some local currency, as airline overweight baggage chargers MUST be paid in local currency.


GRATUITIES
Gratuities are not included at all Aggressor destinations.  Tipping is voluntary and based on the service the staff has provided you.  The Manager will provide envelopes for gratuities upon settling your account at the end of the week.  Gratuities are shared equally among all staff. All Aggressors accept cash, Visa, and MasterCard payments for gratuities.
