DAY 1 – Saturday 29, December
Starting from 3:00pm our guests are arriving on the boat, they are going to be 22 on board this week coming from France, Norway, Vietnam, USA, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, UK, Austria, Italy, Netherlands. After a welcome fresh juice, we lead our guest to discover their comfy cabins. Then we set up the diving gears and finishing some paperwork. At 7:00pm, we ring the bell for dinner.
Because of the late arrival, this week the general safety briefing of the boat and the presentation of the crew is going to be after dinner.
After the briefing and a long day of traveling for most of our guests, it is time to get some rest and strength for our first diving day tomorrow!!
DAY 2 – Sunday 30, December
After leaving the Juweira marina late in the evening, we wake up at 6:30am anchored close from our first dive site. After the continental breakfast, we all gathered in the salon for the dive safety briefing, and the dive spot briefing. Our first dive was the Mariott wreck, where we could encounter today, brown eel cat fish, honeycomb moray eel, crocodile fish, octopus. after he dive back on the boat it is hot breakfast time. At 11:45am we ring the bell for our second briefing, Hamdis block. All our divers got the chance to encounter a guitar shark. After the dive it is lunch time. At 3:45pm we gathered all again for the third and last dive of today, Eagle bay. This week eagle bay was well named as some of our divers could encounter eagle ray, we also saw different varieties of nudibranch, turtle, and huge lobster.
After that everybody went back on board, Captain Amr directly start our crossing in the direction of the Hallaniyat archipelago. At 7:30pm, we ring the bell for the last time of the day but not the least... dinner time!! Tonight Chef Abu Hassan offer us a delicious beef filet served with mashed potato.
DAY 3 – Monday 31, December
After a calm crossing overnight, we wake up at 6:15am moray beside the island of Al Hasikiyah, the western island of the archipelago. At 6:45am we ring the bell for the briefing of Hasikiyah plateau, out first dive. This dive offered us eagle ray, plenty of colorful scorpion fish, playground for photographers. Back on the boat it is hot breakfast. At 10:30am we all gathered in the salon for the second dive briefing, the sunny turtle. During this dive we saw: octopus, geometric moray, red-mouth grouper. Back on the boat, it is lunch time. after a nap at 3:00pm we ring the bell for our afternoon dive: Aquarium. This dive is an shallow, easy, relax stationary dive. We could meet crocodile fish, dragon moray, plenty of honeycomb moray eel, and cloud of juvenile sweeper. Back on the boat Nubi and Hamed, our stewards are waiting for us with a fresh guava/strawberry juice. At 6:15pm we ring the bell for our night dive, Aquarium. Back on the boat after the dive, we directly started to move in the direction of Qibliyah island, the eastern point of our trip. But tonight is also time for some celebration, the new year is coming but it is also Jo birthday!! Happy birthday Jo, and than you for being with use this week for this special day!!!
Day 4 – Tuesday 1, January
At 6:15am, we wake up moray beside Al Qibliyah island, this morning the sky is a bit cloudy with some beautiful sun ray going through. It is a lovely way to start 2019, happy new year to all o you!!!
At 6:45am, we all gathered in the salon for the first briefing of the year… Al Qibliyah rock. During this dive we encounter school of Moorish idol, lemon sweetlips, harry hotlips; the famous guineafowl pufferfish. Back on the boat, our hot breakfast is waiting for us. At 10:30am, we ring the bell for the second dive, Gotta Qibliyah. This dive offered us stunning landscape with its swim through and little caves. Back on the boat, it is lunch time. After a nap at 3:00pm we ring the bell for our afternoon stationary dive canal garden. Back on the boat Nubi and Hamed are waiting for us with a fresh jus. At 6:15pm we ring the bell for the night dive. During this dive we saw: octopus, decorated crab, lobster. After the night dive, we ring the bell for dinner, in the same we move the boat in the direction of Fish highway, where we are going to anchor for the night.
DAY 5 – Wednesday 2, January
This morning we wake up at 6:15am anchored directly on top of our first dive spot. After the briefing we jumped in the water, during this dive we saw: big school of Ehrenberg’s snapper, swimming grouper. Back on the boat, we do a short navigation to get closer to our next dive site, Angry grouper. At 10:30am, we ring the bell to the dive briefing. Today we encounter a leopard shark during the dive. Back on the boat, we do again a short navigation in the direction of Schmies island, where we are going to do our afternoon and night dive. At 3:00pm we ring the bell for our afternoon dive Schmies fingers. This dive is what you want for an afternoon dive, nice and easy, just relax and watch the fish television around you!! At 6:15pm we ring the bell for our night dive, Schmies fingers again. During this dive we encounter octopus, squid, swimming moray eel. After the dive we serve the dinner, and in the meantime we move in the direction of Hasikiyah island where we are going to dive tomorrow.
DAY 6 – Thursday 3, January
Late in the night we arrived on Hasikiyah island. This morning we wake up moray beside the island, on the other side of where we were on Monday. At 6:45am we ring the bell for the first dive briefing the cave. Inside the cave this morning we could swim through big cloud of glass fish, school of golden sweetlips. Back on the boat the hot breakfast is waiting is. At 10:30am we ring the bell for the second dive briefing of the day, The arch. As always this dive offered us its chimeric cloud of thousands of glass fish. At 3:00pm we ring the bell for our afternoon dive, Hasikiyah coral bay. During this dive we could saw, nudibranch, jaw fish. At 6:15pm we ring the bell for our last night dive of the week, Hasikiyah coral bay. This night dive was really epic, during more than 20 minutes some mobula rays couldn’t stop playing with our light. Back on the boat after this amazing moment, it is dinner time. After the dinner, we all gathered in the salon as every Thursday to watch the video and the slideshow memories of the week. In the same time, we start our way back to the mainland, where we are going to dive tomorrow.
DAY 7 – Friday 4, January
After a smooth crossing overnight, we wake up this morning in front of the harbor of Mirbat harbor. Today for our last day of diving we are going to do two dive over the dive site of Ras Mirbat. During our two dives we spotted: lobsters, slipper lobsters, nudibranchs and cuttle fish, toad fish, stingray.
Back on the boat after the second dive, it is time to wash the equipment with the help of the crew. In the meantime, Captain Amr drives the vessel on our way back to the marina of Juweira.
At 5:30pm, we ring the bell for the last time this week for the cocktail party, time to celebrate our guests and have the ceremony of the certification.
