Red Sea Aggressor II

 

Charter Date – Sat 29th September

General Conditions; Hot & Sunny around 30 degrees. Water temperature is 27-28degrees. (recommended 3mm suit.) Windy at around 18 knots most of the week.

Arrival Day – Saturday 29th September

Guests arrived and relaxed with a welcome drink and flower before having the delicious pizza made by our chef Abdullah. After we checked all guests in they enjoyed dinner prepared by the chefs. After dinner came the safety and boat briefing to explain all they need to know for the week. Guests then enjoyed a champagne toast to celebrate the week ahead. Guests set their equipment up ready for the week ahead and enjoyed relaxing before bed.

Day 1 – Sunday 30th September

Boat permissions were given and the captain fired the engines and started to move the boat to our first dive site. Guests were woken with the beverage of their choice and enjoyed a hot breakfast before the first dive briefing of the week. Dive 1 Sha’ab El Erg. Guests did a weight check and checked all their gear before descending. We saw a large napoleon wrasse at the start of the dive nearly as big as some of our divers!! Blue spotted rays, eels, clown fish, cornet fish and much more was seen on the dive. Guests sent their SMB up to practice and ended their dive. After a warm shower lunch was served. After lunch the captain crossed the shipping lane to Sha’ab Mahmoud where dive 2 was Beacon Rock. Another mooring dive guests headed to the reef and saw a large napoleon wrasse, lion fish, parrot fish, clown fish, anthias fish and much more. Snacks were served as guests relaxed before the night dive. Dive 3 the night dive was at beacon rock. Guests had so much to look at just under the boat alone. Crocodile fish, albino spider crabs, lion fish, moray eel and sleeping parrot fish were seen. Guests enjoyed dinner before relaxing and bed.

Day 2 – Monday 1st October

Early start this morning so we could have the first dive site to ourselves. Guests were woken at 5.30am and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1. Dive 1 was the Dunraven wreck a very short tender ride to the wreck, guests saw the propeller covered in soft coral and swam through the length of the wreck inside saw the remains of the engine, 2 big boilers. On the exit there was 1000s of glass fish and a turtle!! After the wreck we followed the reef back to the main boat. Large wrasse, moray eel, cornet fish, clown fish were all seen. Guests enjoyed a hot breakfast before dive 2. Dive 2 was Shark & Yolanda reef the famous national park. Drift dive from the back of the big boat shark reef is covered in colorful soft coral swarming with 100s of different types of marine life. Yolanda reef famous for the toilet cargo left on the reef. Eels, anthias, clown fish and much more was seen. After the dive lunch was served and we moved closer to Sharm for the 3rd dive. Dive 3 was Ras Um Sid great dive with masses on fan corals and sheets of fire coral. Napolean wrasse, surgeonfish, batfish, jacks and much more. After the dive guests enjoyed snacks prepared by the chef and relax before the night dive. Night dive was at Temple! Guests saw octopus, squid, lion fish, crabs and much more. After the dive guests enjoyed their dinner and relaxed before bed.

Day 3 – Tuesday 2nd October

Guests were woken and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1. Dive 1 was Ras Ghozlani guests enjoyed a drift around the reef seeing clown fish a rare red sea anemone, spotted ray, trigger fish, grouper and much more. After a hot breakfast guests relaxed before dive 2 at Jackfish Alley. Dive 2 a drift from the big boat, entered the water and swam through the cave swim through with amazing views and light. Followed the reef around as we drifted. 1000s of fish around the reef. Giant barracuda, spotted rays, anthias, trigger fish, cornet fish, white tip reef shark was a small selection of what was seen! Guests enjoyed lunch while the captain moved the boar to Sha’ab Ali ready for the Thistlegorm! The first dive on the Thistlegorm and 1st for many of our guests. Straight away guests were amazed with the amount of marine life on the wrek. As we went inside it become obvious why we call it an underwater museum. We saw all the cargo, bsa motorbikes, trucks, plane wings, guns etc… Nudi brancs were seen, large school batfish, crocodile fish and much more! Guests enjoyed delicious pizza made by our chef before the night dive. Night dive at the Thistlegorm is one not to be missed. Guests decided to split and do half inside half outside! Amazing dive exploring the iconic wreck. Turtle was seen sleeping. Guests enjoyed dinner before relaxing.

Day 4 – Wednesday 3rd October

Guests were woken and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1. Dive 1 was the Thistlegorm. Full tour of the outside of the wreck seeing the locomotives, the stern with the 2 large guns, the impressive propeller, lots of gun cartridges and shells. Down to the bow where the chains are. Lots of marine life on the wreck and a lot of wreck to see. Guests enjoyed breakfast and relax before dive 2. Dive 2 was the Kingston wreck, guests enjoyed looking around the wreck and the current drifted us around the reef. Lots of marine life we saw large stone fish, eel, clownfish and much more. Guests enjoyed lunch and relaxed while the captain moved the boat to Gubal Island for the 3rd dive of the day. 3rd Dive was the barge… One word to explain this dive DOLPHINS!!! Guests explored the barge and were amazed with the amount of life on the barge. Went into the lagoon and saw the rare lemon fish before heading back to the boat and being greeted by a pod of playful dolphins!!! After the dive guests enjoyed snacks before the night dive. Night dive was also at the barge where guests stayed around the barge and under the boat. The resident large eel George and georgina were seen, cuttlefish, squid, hunting travalley, unicorn fish and much more. Guests enjoyed their dinner and browsing and purchasing items from the boutique.

Day 5 – Thursday 4th October

Guests were woken with their beverage choice and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1. Dive 1 was bluff point. Short tender ride out to the corner guests drifted around the reef, came to the barge and back to the boat. Lots of clown fish, lion fish, spotted rays, big eye solider fish were seen. Guests enjoyed a hot breakfast and relax while the captain moved the boat to Abu Nuhas. Abu Nuhas home of 4 shipwrecks. Dive 2 was the most famous wreck here the Giannis D. Guests explored the wreck before entering the engine room and viewing the 6-cylinder engine through the crew quarters and back out of the wreck. Over the container to the bow where we saw clown fish, sergeant major fish, sturgeon fish and much more. Guests enjoyed their lunch before dive 3 at the Tile Wreck. Guests enjoyed explored the wreck entering the holds and seeing all the Italian floor tiles, through the workshop area and to the galley. After dive 3 guests enjoyed snacks prepared by the chef. Night dive was at Abu Nuhas reef. Lovely relaxing dive with reef and sandy bottom. Large lobster, Spanish dancer, shrimp, sleeping fish were all seen. Guests enjoyed dinner while we played the pictures and video of the week.

Day 6 – Friday 6th October

Guests were woken and enjoyed a light breakfast before dive 1. Dive 1 was the Carnatic. Guests explored the wreck which is covered in hard and soft corrals. Entered the open wreck in the stern and saw the remains of the engine in the collapsed area. Over to the bow where a create of whiskey bottles are and a large school of glass fish in the top section of the bow. Guests enjoyed their hot breakfast before the last dive of the trip. Dive 2 was Sha’ab El Erg – dolphin house! We took the guests on the tender around the back of the reef. Guests saw trigger fish, butterfly fish, spotted ray, wrasse and much more. Guests enjoyed lunch while the crew washed all their kit and got ready for the cocktail party and celebrations of the week!!
