Kona Aggressor II Captain’s Log

June 2 – June 8, 2018

Thursday: The Hive, Hammerhead, Pelagic Magic

Saturday 2 June:

Kona Aggressor II welcomes aboard 10 new guests this week. After everyone is introduced to their new home for the week, Captain Matt formally introduces the guests to their crew, and the yacht. Our guests are familiarized with the yacht, it’s safety features, and it’s amenities. Bangkok Fire Rice, Grilled Swordfish, topped with Pineapple Salsa was our welcome aboard dinner this week.

 

Sunday 3 June: The day started at Aquarium. Guests acquainted themselves with their gear & the Kona Aggressor II dive procedures. First dive, guests found Baby Bonefish, Frog Fish, HUGE Coronet Fish, White Tip Shark. Second dive, 2 more Frog Fish!! Yellow Margin Eel, Dolphin. Night dive was Manta Mayhem, with Bottle-nosed Dolphin joining in the festivities again this week!

Lunch consisted of Roast Beef Sandwiches, Grilled Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches, Pasta Salad, Fresh

Monday 4 June: Today we experienced flat calm seas, with a hazy sunrise, as we motored our way to Kalokos Arches. The crew celebrated Matt’s 100th dive. Guests found and photographed Scrawled Filefish, Big and Little Frog Fish, Zebra Moray, Whitley’s Boxfish, Tiger Cowry, Blue Dragon Nudibranch, Golden Lace Nudibranch

Afternoon snack was a Smoked Salmon Platter.

Tuesday 5 June:   Green Sea Turtle, Tritons Trumpet, Spotted Eagle Ray, Long Nosed Hawk fish, Viper Moray were spotted by our intrepid divers.

Tuesday’s night dive at Manuka Bay, our guests were greeted by dozens of shrimp, and Slipper Lobster, Spiny Lobster, Red Reef Lobster, Jeweled Anemone Crab, Yellow Margin Eel devouring a Yellow Tang.

Wednesday 6 June: Marion achieved in making her 200th dive today! Our guests searched out and found Chocolate-Dipped Damsel Fish, as well as, Titan Scorpionfish, Day Octopus, Leaf Scorpionfish. Flame Angels and a Peacock Razor Wrasse were at Au Crater.

Morning snack of Toffee & Walnut Cookies brightened an already promising day!

Thursday 7 June: At The Hive, a keen eyed guest found Flat Rock Crab, and Stocky Hawk fish. Later at Hammerhead, Sea Urchin Crab, Red Lionfish, and Green Sea Turtle were spotted. Pelagic Magic provided the guests the opportunity to Blue Water dive at night while watching mesmerizing Jellyfish and pods of Squid swim around them.

Dinner, Prime Rib night with Mushroom Gravy!!

Friday 8 June: Our guests last day of diving. We dive Turtle Pinnacle. Today we encountered Dragon Wrasse, and Giant Trevally.

Lunch of Cheeseburgers in Paradise, followed later with a Cocktail Party consisting of Beer, Wine, Selection of Cheeses & Crackers. Some farewells were made this evening, as some of the guests opted to spend time exploring the big island of Hawaii on land after all the fabulous diving they enjoyed off shore.
