This week ours guest came from different countries most of then from Europe and we were ready to start our sailing to Cocos Island. At this time of the year the ocean is flat a we got the opportunity to see dolphins , birds and a beautiful sunset at the end of the day.
After 33 hours we arrived to the island and there was a perfect weather with sunny sky ,calm sea and perfect visibility.
Check dive was in Chatham Bay with lots of fish , white tips sharks and marble rays , The next dives were conducted in Manuelita Island with the surprise to see a big oceanic manta ray swimming by together with a Tiger shark and hammerheads in the background ,just a sign of how the week is going to be.
Next day’s breakfast was at 7 am and then we were ready to go to Punta Maria and Dirty Rock just on time to be diving with Galapagos Sharks and then several schools of hammerheads which are the main attractions on these two dive sites.
Alcyone is the site where everything can happen because is located 1 mile from shore and it’s a good place to see whale sharks. We got in the water for the first dive and the hammerheads were getting cleaned by the barber fish ,some marble rays were there as well and just before deco , as usual, we started to go up and all of the sudden the whale came to say hello when we were doing the safety stop swimming nice slow and super friendly , so everyone was able to take photos and videos.
Big and Small dos amigos were the dives for the next day, the Arch was the best with tons of fish white tips everywhere and at the end of the dive we got to see a huge school of Skip Jack(Tunas) at least ,they were 3 thousand of them!
Small dos Amigos was full Galapagos shark all around the rock and a beautiful eagle ray came by , also Big dos amigos, with a big school of snappers and lots of different kind of fish just everywhere you looked at.
For the afternoon dives we went to places like Viking rock and Pajara Island , on this time, it was perfect for smaller creatures like frog fish, blennys, gobys, lobsters, eels, morays and colourful schools of fish
Another great diving week in Cocos Island.
